Recovery Model
Our approach at Teen Challenge Canada focuses on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. We know that overcoming addiction isn’t just about sobriety but embracing a new way of life.
It is difficult to focus on recovery if you feel unsafe or your physical needs are not being met. As our clients move into our centres and find structure and routines, they start to feel secure. Only then can they start to heal. Counselling helps uncover the underlying motives for addiction while spiritual disciplines start to reshape their identity.
The Teen Challenge Recovery Model includes five essential elements. They work together to equip our clients with the tools they need for lasting recovery.
- PLACE OF REFUGE
Teen Challenge Canada offers more than just shelter; it provides a substance-free place of refuge where individuals can escape the triggers and temptations that have defined their past, focusing instead on healing and restoration.
- ADDICTION COUNSELLING
Substance addiction is more than a habit; it’s an outward expression of an inner problem.
Our accredited addiction counsellors help our clients understand the underlying causes of their addiction and develop the tools they need for long-term recovery.- EDUCATION & SPIRITUAL FORMATION
True recovery means equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual foundation to build a fulfilling life.
Our curriculum provides a comprehensive approach that nurtures both intellectual growth and spiritual development.- EQUIPPING & LIFE SKILLS
On the road to recovery, there are many milestones along the way.
The destination is integrating back into everyday life. To get there, we equip individuals with the practical skills they need to thrive every day.- PRE & POST CARE
Recovery is a journey.
That journey begins even before a client enters one of our centres and continues long after they leave. Pre & Post Care services ensure individuals have the necessary support at every stage of their recovery process.
