Addictions Counsellor - Atlantic Hope Women's & Eastern Ontario Men's Centres

Note: This is a Hybrid Full-Time or Part-Time in person position; pay rate as agreed, based on experience, expertise, and applicable education.

COMPANY INTRODUCTION
Teen Challenge is a 12-month, faith-based, in-residence drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, for adults 18 and older. We currently have 8 centres located in Alberta, Atlantic Canada, Saskatchewan and Ontario that are able to serve up to 197 people who are struggling with substance addiction. We demonstrate God’s love by helping individuals become free from substance addiction and equipping them to live full and meaningful lives.

JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION 

Our team is looking for a full-time Addictions Counsellor who has a CCACF or equivalent counselling designation. We are searching for the equivalent of one full-time counsellor. This can be one person who supports one of the Centres roughly fifty percent of the time in-person, and fifty percent remotely, or two people who support one centre each working fifty percent of the time in-person.

You will serve our clients by providing one-on-one therapeutic rehabilitative counselling sessions.  Counsellors apply psychotherapeutic counselling standards as well as the Teen Challenge program standards. A strong understanding of Christian principles is essential in this role, to enable the sensitive integration of faith-based guidance with therapeutic practices. As an Addictions Counsellor, you will write and implement treatment plans for clients provide one-on-one counselling, group sessions, relapse prevention and exit strategy planning, while respectfully encouraging clients’ character growth by applying biblical principles.
