| Justin's Story |
|
At 12, I began smoking cigarettes and pot. I was very active in sports and began to live a double life, torn between sports and drugs. At 15, I accepted Jesus at a Christian camp, but I did not truly commit to Him. By 16, I had drifted away from God and had moved out on my own. I wanted freedom and no rules. Eventually, marijuana was no longer enough and I searched for a new high. I became addicted to cocaine. A year later, I was in bad shape and I asked to come home. My parents welcomed me with open arms. Still involved with drugs, my rebellious and selfish attitude became evident to my parents. I involved myself in school activities to avoid the fact that I was sinking into a destructive pattern. My parents finally helped me realize I was out of control and told me about Teen Challenge. Although I had plans to attend university, I decided to enter the program. In the beginning, I was not ready to accept the claims of Christianity again, but God used his Word and books by Lee Strobel and I recommitted my life to Christ! There is still much work to be done, but with God, all things are possible! |
