| Behind The Scenes: Student Chapel |
|
The students at Teen Challenge Saskatchewan, like the rest of the country, have been caught up in the excitement of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. At breakfast the talk is centred on last night's downhill slalom, or how Wickenhauser and Sid-The-Kid tapped in that late goal to overcome the USA. If it isn’t sports, it isn’t news. Part of the Teen Challenge Saskatchewan program that sponsors and family may not be aware of is Student Chapel. Students share personal stories, what they are learning and studying, as well as lead the worship. As staff, we are often privileged to hear students share their personal testimonies for the first time. It’s a very humbling and vulnerable moment for students. S shared about his relational problems that occurred due to his drug problem. The release of emotion was very difficult for him, as you can imagine. But it was clear that his brothers here supported him and embraced him in true empathy. This is how God meant loving your brother to be. Students are brutally honest and genuine in their brokenness. It is here that no one has anything left to hide. Student Chapel is often where they realize their faults, weaknesses, sin, and guilt. It's the path to peace. It's healing. Pray for the students at Teen Challenge Saskatchewan as they continue in their journey towards healing and sobriety. Thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers who steadfastly support the ministry work being done here at Teen Challenge Saskatchewan.
